You may have different delivery days for specific geographical areas or particular groups of customers - or even seasonally throughout the year. Using Fulfilment groups to set your delivery days and cut-off times helps you customise Upstock to reflect the on-the-ground reality of your ordering and delivery schedules.
Go to Settings > Fulfilment groups and choose a group.
The Delivery schedule does three main things:
Defines which days of the week you are able to deliver to the customers in that fulfilment group
Sets the cut-off times for orders placed by customers in that fulfilment group
Sets the timing of standing orders for customers in that fulfilment group
Next available delivery day
Delivery day
When the box next to a day is ticked, this means you can deliver to the customers in that fulfilment group on that day. When it's unticked, then customers aren't able to select that day of the week when placing an order. Upstock will automatically select the next available delivery day.
Cut-off times
The cut-off defaults to one day before the delivery day, but can be set earlier or later. For example, you may need a long lead-time to make products, so you can set the cut-off to two days before delivery instead of one.
What your customers see
When your customers are ordering, the delivery day will default to the next available day, taking into account the cut-off time. So if your cut-off time for a Wednesday order is midday Monday and they are placing the order after midday on Monday then Thursday will be chosen.
Customers can select a delivery day after its cut-off time has passed, but they will see a message warning them that they may receive delivery later.
Tip: As a supplier, you are able to place an order with any day set as the delivery day, regardless of delivery days and cut-off times.
Standing order timing
If you use Standing orders to automate your ordering, the timing of when those orders are created is set with the delivery day and cut-off time. See this article for more information about managing standing orders.
