When you receive an order, you may notice some products have a warning showing next to them. Upstock highlights any discrepancies in price or availability, to help you fulfil the order correctly.

Here’s a bit more about why these warnings are shown, plus how to fix them.

Why are product warnings shown?

The warnings are shown if an order doesn't match your current products or prices.

This may happen if you update a product. Eg, if you adjust the price just after a customer places an order, the order will show the original price.

It may also happen if orders are placed using another app, eg Foodstuffs. In this case the other app may not have the same details for the product as Upstock does.

In both cases, the discrepancy is highlighted before you approve the order.

What will my customers see?

Your customers will not see product warnings on orders.

Can I still fulfil an order with warnings?

In most cases you can go ahead and approve the order.

If you want to clear the warnings from the order, follow the specific instructions for each type of warning shown below.

Types of product warnings

Price mismatch

Cause: The price shown on the order doesn’t match the customer’s price list.

How to fix: Update the customer’s price list, or edit the order and remove the product. If updating the price list, you can adjust the sale price or assign the customer to a different price list.

Product hidden

Cause: The product in the order is hidden on the customer’s price list.

How to fix: Update the customer’s price list, or edit the order and remove the product. If updating the price list, you can mark the product as showing or assign the customer to a different price list.

Out of stock

Cause: The product in the order is out of stock.

How to fix: Go to your products and mark the product as available, or edit the order and remove the product.

Discontinued

Cause: The product in the order has been discontinued.

How to fix: Go to products and mark the product as available, or edit the order and remove the product.

Not in Upstock

Cause: The product in the order has not been matched with a product in Upstock. This only occurs for orders placed using another app, eg Foodstuffs.
